Annu Kapoor Steps Into Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s Shoes For 'Jolly LLB 2'

Nawazuddin Siddiqui might have started his career on a low profile with small roles in movies such as ‘Sarfarosh’ (1999) and ‘Munna Bhai M.B.B.S.’ (2003) but his career graph went on to another level when he starred in a worthy role in ‘Gangs of Wasseypur’ (2012). Since then, the 42-year-old star has been one of the top considerations of directors for roles that demand exclusivity. If recent reports are to be relied upon, the actor was offered a vital role in 'Jolly LLB 2' too. However, the occupied actor had to turn down the offer due to lack of dates.

Now that Nawazuddin has declined to play the pivotal character in the flick, rumours are doing the rounds that actor Annu Kapoor is likely to step into the shoes of the Badlapur actor. Reportedly, the role will be equivalent of Boman Irani in the first iteration, ‘Jolly LLB’ (2013). Akshay Kumar has already replaced Arshad Warsi to play the protagonist.

The upcoming courtroom comedy drama will be directed by Subhash Kapoor. The movie went on floors on July 18 this year and is slated to be released on February 10 next year. The film will be shot in Lucknow, Varanasi and Kashmir.
