Anupam Kher announces cash award on his fathers name

Shimla -- Veteran actor Anupam Kher has announced an award in the honour of his father Pushkar Nath Kher, who died three months ago at the age of 83. The senior actor, a native of Himanchal Pradesh, made this announcement yesterday at a function held here to pay homage to his late father. This was his first visit to the state capital after the death of his father. Kher said that his family has decided to institute a cash award of Rs 1.5 lakh on the name of Pushkar Nath Kher which will be given to a person of the state for his/her outstanding performance in the field of creativity. He said that every year a function would be organised to give away the award and a selection committee will soon be constituted for the same.
