Anupam Kher conferred Los Angeles’s City Proclamation

Veteran actor Anupam Kher over the years has been appreciated for his roles inBride & Prejudice, The Mistress of Spices, Bend It Like Beckham, American Blend, Midnight’sChildren andHope and a Little Sugarwhich are his non-Bollywood ventures. The 57-year-old has even won accolades for his films in the past. He was last seen in the Oscar nominatedSilver Linings Playbook. Tom Labonge, Council Member 4th District and Herb J. Wesson, Jr, President Los Angeles City Council honoured him with the City Proclamation in Los Angeles yesterday.

Kher was totally ecstatic post receiving the honour and said, “It is a big event because I am being honoured as an actor, and not only as an Indian actor. The Proclamation from the City of Los Angeles would be an endorsement of the fact that Asian actors are not seen as peculiar phenomena on a global platform. Of course, most of my films are Indian and I am an Indian actor. It was given to me on the same day as they gave it to the Legendary Dick Van Dyke.”
