Anurag Kashyap applauds Raju Hirani for a brave attempt, appreciates PK

One of the most followed filmmakers in the country, Anurag Kashyap is next in queue to shower heaps of praises on filmmaker Raju Hirani for having made PK. The director who watched the film recently termed Raju as the bravest filmmaker in India.

“People say Dibakar, Vishal and I are brave but I feel Raju is the one. He made a film on Gandhiji in ‘Lage Raho Munnabhai’ and on religion in ‘PK‘ and he did it effectively,” Kashyap said. The Black Friday director who is himself known to make movies in an out of the box style conveyed his appreciation for the film and hailed the team behind it. Anurag, who’s Bombay Velvet was earlier slated to arrive this year to see a clash with PK was moved to May 2015 owing to some delay. Both Ranbir and Anushka who are associated with PK in a way are the lead pair in Kashyap’s film.

Talking further about PK, the filmmaker said, “PK’s first half is amazing and he said everything what he tried to say through the montage. Second half is the story, which you have to tell according to the market and to complete the storyline. Aamir Khan’s flashback is the most effective and best part in the film. Generally, we filmmakers get into our subject to prove its poignancy so much that we end up making it less effective for audience. But Raju didn’t do that,” he added.
