Aparna Sen’s Criticism On 'Padmavati' Set Attack, says It's Shameful

Director Aparna Sen has today denounced the wreckage that happened on the set of Sanjay Leela Bhansali's film 'Padmavati' in Kolhapur and calls it 'shameful'. About 20 anonymous people torched the costumes and the animal feed kept there for the horses featuring in the film yesterday.

Bhansali had faced a similar issue in January when members of Rajput Karni Sena created a chaos on the sets in Jaipur and purportedly misbehaved with him. Talking about the act, Sen said, "I think it's shameful that a director's freedom of expression is being curbed in this manner. Who are these so called moral guardians of Hinduism?"

"The incident showed a great lapse on the part of administration. When you are in governance you have to control these elements in society. It is part of your responsibility," she added. Karan Johar, Vikramaditya Motwane and S S Rajamouli also supported Bhansali. They even raised a concern that freedom of speech is a fundamental right and as an entertainer, he should have the freedom to apprehend his goals and dream.
