One of the hooligans in Ali Abbas Zafar’s Gunday, Bala aka Arjun Kapoor, underwent a difficult tan make-up for the film as his character required four shades darker than his original skin tone. Both the lead actors in the film including Ranveer Singh or Bikram had to undergo the tan make-up to look more realistic on the big screens.

Arjun said in a statement, "I had it more difficult than Ranveer Singh as he had to go only two shades darker. For me, it was almost four shades.” The make-up went on for three hours and two hours more were required to remove the same. A source from the film unit added, “For the film, which is set in Kolkata, both the boys needed to get on tan make-up before their shots. These were bare-body scenes so it wasn’t just their faces that needed to look a few shades darker.” The insider added, “It would take them three hours to put on the make-up and then two hours later to get it off. And in order to have everything ready on time, in spite of sometimes shooting till late in the night, Arjun and Ranveer would wake up much before everyone else and report on the sets.” Gunday, also starring Priyanka Chopra, will open on February 14.
