Avika Gor, Manish Raisinghan to shoot for their second short film in France

Actor Avika Gor, who became popular with television shows Balika Vadhu and Sasural Simar Ka, is now focussing on short films and web series. The actor’s first short film I, Me, Myself will be screened at the Cannes Film Festival, which begins on May 17. Before heading to the prestigious film festival, Avika plans to shoot for her second short film in France and Switzerland.

In her second short film, too, Avika shares screen space with co-star Manish Raisinghan, whom she met on the sets of their daily show Sasural Simar Ka. The two are even rumoured to be dating, but have vehemently denied the reports.

“We are shooting a short film there and that’s probably for the first time ever that someone is travelling to Europe to shoot for a short film. Yash Raj Films set an example by taking Hindi cinema to the Alps and others followed suit,” says Avika, who took a hiatus after Sasural Simar Ka to figure out what she wanted to do in life. During the break, the actor did a screenplay writing course, and says that she wants to learn direction too. The actor says that she is also keen on doing web series.
