Baahubali (Hindi) Mints Rs. 100 crores in 24 Days

S.S. Rajamouli’s dream project, Baahubali, is touted to be one of the most expensive films in the history of Indian cinema. Setting another benchmark, the Hindi dubbed version of the film has crossed Rs. 100 crore mark at the domestic box office in just 24 days.

Being the solo release, the Prabhas starrer film opened well at the box office. In its second week, the film had a tough competition with Salman Khan’s Bajrangi Bhaijaan, but it remained untouched by the Sallu mania. The films collection was Rs. 95.76 crore in its third week. In the fourth week, the film finally crossed Rs. 100 crore mark.

So far, Bollywood films such as Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Tanu Weds Manu Returns and ABCD 2 are the only ones that have made it to Rs 100 crores this year. Baahubali is the fourth film to enter the club. Many South Indian films such as Rajinikanth starrer Enthiran and Lingaa, Kamal Haasan starrer Vishwaroopam, and I, released in dubbed Hindi versions, but no film crossed Rs. 50 crore collections. Baahubali has become the first south Indian film to achieve the rare feet.
