Bang Bang crawls past 150 crores while Haider touches an impressive 50
After the 5 day long opening weekend that Bang Bang and Haider experienced last week, the second weekend continued to earn them more and more box office moolah. Thanks to the dismal performance of the new releases, Bang Bang and Haider remained the only prominent choices for the audiences.
Continuing its roaring success at the counters, Hrithik-Katrina starrer Bang Bang has now gone past 150 crore making it the second highest grosser of the year after Kick. The film in its second weekend started with Fri 4.9 crores, Sat 6.3 crores, Sun 8.03 crores making its tally rise up to 155. On the other side, the dark intense drama Haider despite all its controversy managed to touch the 50 crore mark making a huge statement of a non commercial venture tasting success. The film collected around 11 crores in its second weekend and let the producers take a sigh of relief. The film has been consistently performing well at the urban centres and multiplexes.
All four releases that opened this Friday were completely written off by the critics and audiences. Ekkees Toppon Ki Salaami out of all new releases managed to get home with some reward while the others left the box office counters completely cold. Bang Bang is performing exceedingly well at the overseas market as well. The film is now being ranked among the highest grossers of all time in overseas. The only major prospect which would now put a challenge for them is SRK’s Happy New Year which is still 10 days away. Meanwhile Bang Bang can have all the fun it is experiencing right now.
