Wondering What Does The Title 'Behen Hogi Teri' Mean? On-Screen Yuvraj Singh, Herry Tangri Explains!

Rajkummar Rao is all geared up for the release of his next, Behen Hogi Teri, which is set to hit theatres on June 9. Apart from Rajkummar and his love interest - essayed by Shruti Haasan - another character has a pivotal role in the film. Actor Herry Tangri (who played Yuvraj in MS Dhoni The Untold Story) is Rajkummar’s close friend and an important character in the love story.

In a candid chat, Tangri talks about his role in Behen Hogi Teri, Yuvraj Singh and more.

What is your role in Behen Hogi Teri?
I play Rajkummar Rao’s friend Bhurra, but he is not just the hero’s side-kick. My character provides a crucial twist in the plot which I cannot reveal right now.

What does the film’s title mean?
I think every guy in our country must have gone through this. At least I have. There was this girl in school I really liked but never told her. Later, when she was getting married, her parents told me, “Beta ye intezaam dekh lena, tumhari behen ki shadi hai.” The inner voice shouts just one thing at such moments - “Behen Hogi Teri”. The film is a cry out to all such men who have experienced this.

How was it working with Rajkummar?
Rajkummar is a good friend. We debuted in Bollywood with the same film (Love, Sex Aur Dokha). We share a good rapport but this is the first time I got to share the screenspace with him. He is so talented that you always learn something new while working with him. In fact, working on the film was a great experience as we had talented actors around us - Gulshan Grover, Ranjeet ji and others. There is a lot you can learn from these actors.

You have often been mistaken for Yuvraj Singh and you have even given autographs as Yuvraj Singh. Were you ever caught?
No. I have done that several times but everytime the fan left with a smile on his face. I have always seen this satisfaction and excitement on their face that they have Yuvraj Singh’s autograph and met him. Now, after having played the cricketer in Sushant Singh Rajput-starrer MS Dhoni The Untold Story, I feel that even if they were to discover that they had the wrong Yuvvraj, they would be happy that it was at least onscreen Yuvvraj, if not the real one. I guess that should keep away the feeling of having been duped.
