Farhan told reporters on the success of his film, "We are happy that people love this film. The biggest compliment is the acceptance of audience and Milkha Singh and his family.” An ecstatic Farhan added more, "My mother (Honey Irani) and wife (Adhuna) are feeling proud of me. It is nice to see this reaction as I was away from them and gave most of the time to this film.” He said on his moral learning from the film, "Milkhaji taught me that you couldn't move on in life with the baggage of negativity and illwill. You can't be the Flying Sikh with that entire burden." He added further, "Athletes are bound to be inspired by the movie. But I hope sports federations should start getting a lot more sensitive towards athletes and nurture them correctly... Hopefully, the film will make people think.” Director Mehra and Farhan met Maharashtra revenue minister Balasaheb Thorat and sought tax concession for the film. The actor said, "We got a positive response from the minister. They also felt there is a positive message in the film. We hope they will make our film tax free.”
