Bhumi Pednekar As Amrita Pritam In Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Next?

There has been a lot of discussion about director Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s next film ‘Gustakhiyan’ since the release of 2015 hit ‘Bajirao Mastani’. The news has been doing rounds about the actress who will play the lead role. The latest report suggests that Dum Laga Ke Haisha fame actress Bhumi Pednekar can now be seen playing Amrita Pritam in this film.

However, names of actresses who were earlier approached to play the lead role include divas like Priyanka Chopra, Deepika Padukone and Kareena Kapoor Khan. Even Padma Shri award recipient Irrfan Khan was also approached for playing film’s leading man. But on not getting any positive response from any one of them, Bhansali started considering Bhumi Pednekar.

'Gustakhiyan' will mark directorial debut of Jasmeet Reen, who is resolute about keeping Bhumi in the project. “Bhumi is new, talented and not over-exposed. She's busy with Manmarziyan as of now, but she has met officials from Bhansali's team. Let's hope for the best”, said a source. Let’s hope Sanjay Leela Bhansali soon makes official announcement about the cast.
