The 63rd National Film Awards honoured Sharat Katariya’s ‘Dum Laga Ke Haisha’ as the Best Hindi Film. The movie starred Ayushmann Khurrana and Bhumi Pednekar as the lead actors. The actress recently revealed that she was overwhelmed by the award and also stated that she will be ready for a sequel.

Bhumi shared, “Sharat sir and I got emotional when we heard the news. I was in tears as I never expected this honour. Being my first film, 'Dum Laga Ke Haisha' will always be special for me. However, I never expected this kind of appreciation, and I didn't even imagine getting awards”. She added, “Now receiving a National Award is like an icing on the cake (for the team)”.

The actress had to gain almost 30 kg for her role in the film but has got back to her slim and trim shape. Talking about playing the overweight married woman, the actress shared an incident from the film that was quite embarrassing for her. “I felt really embarrassed when I had to climb on Ayushmann's back for a scene. I was 90 kg and I thought how Ayushmann would do it. I felt bad for him. But he was such a gentleman every time that after the shot, he used to ask me if I was okay”. Bhumi and Ayushmann will be sharing screen space once again for the film ‘Manmarziyan’.
