Bipasha Weds Karan Singh Grover: Sabyasachi Mukherjee Will Design Wedding Outfits Reveals Rocky S

Just a few days ago, Rocky S vehemently denied having any knowledge of Bipasha Basu and Karan Singh Grover’s wedding. But the designer quickly changed his stance after the couple released a joint statement on April 7, which confirmed that their marriage will take place on April 30. “I am super excited about Bipasha’s wedding. She is my closest friend, and is almost like a sister to me,” says Rocky, revealing that, unlike popular perception, he will not design the actor’s wedding outfits.

“I had told Bipasha that whenever she gets married, I will design her outfits. But I have been really busy for the past few months. I just didn’t have the time to do it. I thought it was better to not design her clothes, rather than creating something in a hurry,” says the designer, who recently presented a show at the London Fashion Week.

In fact, Rocky reveals that designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee is creating outfits for both Bipasha and Karan. “I’m sure he will do a great job,” says the designer, adding that the couple will have an intimate Bengali wedding in the morning on April 30, and a reception on the same night. Apart from that, a mehendi ceremony will be held on April 29.

Ask Rocky if he is planning anything special for his friend, and he says, “Till now, I have not got a chance to plan anything. But now that I am back in Mumbai, I will make sure that I am by her side, and do whatever she wants me to. I plan to throw a party for her and Karan post the wedding. It will be a small gathering for a few close friends.”

While speculation has been rife about Bipasha and Karan’s relationship for a while now, the couple had remained tight-lipped. Rocky says it’s a “justified” way of doing things. “The media has always torn her relationships apart. Therefore, this time, she wanted to keep everything private. I feel it is justified, because it is not always feasible to put everything out there,” he adds.

Finally, talking about his show in London, UK, where he showcased a line with elements of Rajasthani and Gujarati embroidery, Rocky says, “I only had 12 days to put that collection together because they invited me at the last moment. But I was able to pull it off.”
