Bollywood desperately trying, but Censor Board not letting it grow: Swara Bhask...

Swara Bhaskar, who was in the national capital for the music launch of her upcoming film Anarkali of Aarah, slammed the censor board saying that Bollywood is desperately trying to grow but the censor board is not letting it grow.

Clarifying further, Swara said, “CBFC stands for the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), so it should not advice cuts and should only advice the age group who can see the film. She added a debate is definitely required for it and Bollywood should get united in this peak hour.”

“The film industry pays a high amount of entertainment tax to the government and so we deserve to be treated better,” added Swara.

The CBFC had removed some of the bold scenes from the movie, which later leaked online but Swara, who plays a role of an erotic singer said, “Nothing in the film was done to sensationalise things.” “Kudos to independent producers like Sandip Kapur, who are changing Bollywood. Such producers have faith in scripts like Anarkali Of Aarah. They are doing a brave job. The censor board is putting them under scanner way before the release. It is bad as they are already in a vulnerable state,” Swara added.

“Every song, every line, every dance number in the film, every bold scene in the film has been shot due to a specific reason. This is a brave film, provokes you to ask questions from yourself,” said Swara.

“It’s a glimpse into the lives of the item girls who lives beyond the glitz and glamour. We have maintained a balance. We never went crass with the songs,” she added.

Produced by Priya and Sandiip Kapur, written and directed by Avinash Das, the film is all set to hit theatres on March 24.
