These Two Female Centric Bollywood Movies Are All Set To Clash At The Box Office!

Shraddha Kapoor’s upcoming film Haseena: The Queen of Mumbai and Sridevi’s Mom are set to clash this Monsoon. As both the films will open in theatres on the same day, which is July 14. Well, the competition between the two actresses’ is inevitable here, as both will be seen playing strong characters respectively.

Mom, which is helmed by debutant Ravi Udyawar, features Sridevi as a career woman who struggles trying to find comfort and happiness with her stepdaughter. Sridevi is playing a role in the film, which she has never attempted before.  As per sources, “Though she had shades of negative in her husband Boney Kapoor’s film Judaai, she has never gone as far into the grey-back zone as she does in Mom. Her character demystifies the image of the ‘Mother India’ persona. She is ferocious and selfish, if the need arises.”

But, odds are that Sridevi, who was last seen in English Vinglish and is making her comeback nearly after 5 years will give tough competition to Haseena. The film, which is a biopic on Dawood Ibrahim's sister Haseena Parkar, marks Shraddha Kapoor's first female protagonist venture as she is playing Haseena in the film. However, Mom will mark 50th year of Sridevi’s cinematic career. Let’s wait and see which film creates more ripples.
