Dharma Productions has finally revealed the first look of Akshay Kumar and Sidharth Malhotra starrer ‘Brothers’. The film that not only has been one of the most highlighted prospects of the year, but also a creditable remake of a Hollywood classic is set for an Independence Day release.

Directed by Karan Malhotra, Brothers is the official Hindi remake of Gavin O’Connor directed ‘Warrior’ which starred Joel Edgerton and Tom Hardy in the lead. The film will narrate a story of two brothers separated with poignant family ties but forced to clash for a boxing tournament. While Akshay Kumar plays the elder brother, Sidharth Malhotra will be seen in the tough and unaided role of his younger sibling. Jacqueline may have played Akshay’s wife if the film has followed the original’s lines. Jackie Shroff after much of an exile will play a character of substance in the looks of a drunk father.

While filmmaker Karan Malhotra has already spoken volumes about his skills with the impressive Hrithik Roshan starrer Agneepath, this might well be an opportunity to take himself a level up. With an Independence release day in picture, looks like audiences are in for a healthy treat.
