I Was Overjoyed To Sing For Shah Rukh; Tried My Best To Visualise His Character And Sing: Aaman Trikha On The Butterfly Song

Singer Aaman Trikha, who started his career in Bollywood with the hit song Go Go Govinda (Oh My God, 2012) is content with the way his career is shaping up. His latest song, Butterfly, in the upcoming Imtiaz Ali directorial Jab Harry Met Sejal is climbing the charts. What makes it all the more special for him, is that the song has been picturised on superstar Shah Rukh Khan. Trikha says, “I have been working with Pritam da (music composer of the film) for a long time. Last year, he gave me the hit song Jaaneman Aah in the film Dishoom. We also record song patches regularly. One day when he called me to his studio late at night, I was expecting the usual stuff. But then he told me that the song I was going to record is for Shah Rukh, I was overjoyed.”

The 30-year old, who has also sung for actors such as Ajay Devgn in Son Of Sardaar (2012) and Akshay Kumar in The Shaukeens (2014) says that singing for Shah Rukh is an experience in itself. “When you sing for SRK, you have to get into his character, adapt his mannerisms, and visualise how he will express himself on-screen. His character Harry in the film is a happy-go-lucky guy who wears his heart on his sleeve. I had to get into that mode while singing,” says Aaman.

The singer feels that his struggle in the industry has made him what he is today. “Life has come a long way, since the time I used to visit each music composer just to make them hear my voice. As an outsider in this industry, you have to give your 300% to achieve anything,” he says.
