    With an unprecedented spree of box office collections, Furious 7 is speeding on its way to mark itself an all time Hollywood blockbuster in India. After having emerged as the biggest opener in the country, the film is rewriting history in terms of a Hollywood flick faring so well here. Now, the bigger question that everybody have their eyes set on is, ‘can ‘Furious 7’ emerge as first ever 100 crore grosser in India?’

    While we keep coming across Bollywood projects marking the Rs. 100 crores threshold quite easily, no Hollywood film has ever come near to the coveted club. With an opening weekend of over Rs. 50 crores, Furious 7 does make some big promises. If trade analysts are to go by, the James Van directorial has all the factors sailing it all the way through to create a new league. Hollywood biggies such as The Avengers, Iron Man 3, Transformers have been extremely impressive, but have eventually succumbed to the restricted English audience in the country. However, Furious 7 is going from strength to strength.

    While Bollywood’s own release Detective Byomkesh Bakshy couldn’t really pass the crucial Monday test, this Hollywood thriller held very well even on the weekdays. The film is now placed with around Rs. 60 crores (net) in its kitty and another good run of a week may take it a level up. Paul Walker’s emotional tribute, breathtaking stunts and an edge of the seat experience is compelling the audiences to make a theatre visit. It is only a matter of time until we are told of a Hollywood flick entering the 100 crore club for the first time. Let’s watch this space.
