    Balan shared her views about Nargis, "I don't think anyone would dare to remakeMother India. It is unachievable. And whoever does it I will salute them. When you think of a strong woman of Indian cinema the one name that comes to your mind is Nargis fromMother India. I am happy that in some or the other way I was able to pay tribute to the film". Vidya feels proud of herself for recreating the memories, "It's an honour for me to have recreated those two images. One is the image of Nargis from 'Mother India' and when you think of those iconic images from the Indian cinema over time, it definitely features in the top 3." The movie was India's first submission for the Oscars and was one of the most expensive projects of its time.
