City Lights’ trailer out: Rajkummar Rao shines again

Rajkummar Rao, who marked his debut with Love Sex aur Dhokha in 2010 and remained an underrated actor till he won the National Award for Best Actor in Shahid, is back again showcasing his talent in Hansal Mehta’s film City Lights. He is thoroughly impressive in the movie as evident from its just-released first official theatrical trailer.

Rajkummar Rao and debutante Patralekha are happily married with a daughter in the film. Rajkummar earns money from his garment shop in a Rajasthani town. Hard luck strikes the family when his shop is seized by creditors to whom Rajkummar is indebted. Then the couple decides to shift their base to Mumbai to seek a better life. But it seems better life is a distant dream for them as they remain homeless and starving in the indifferent city. Forced by unavoidable situations the characters make some choices which change their lives forever. Hansal Mehta’s City Lights will show us a certain aspect of the city where fundamental human dignity is compelled to get compromised to achieve the basic necessities of our life. The city takes away much more than it gives back. In the trailer Rajkummar is strikingly stunning in his performance. Produced by Mukesh Bhatt City Lights will be released on May 30 under the banner of Vishesh Films.
