Confirmed: Ankita Lokhande To Make Her Bollywood Debut With Kangana Ranaut’s Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi

Pavitra Rishta made Ankita Lokhande a household name. Even after the show ended, Ankita was still in the limelight because of her affair with Sushant Singh Rajput. The news of their break up after 6 years of courtship shocked everyone.

While Sushant made a great career in Bollywood, Ankita’s Bollywood debut was still in the air. Rumours of Ankita’s Bollywood debut were doing the rounds for the longest period of time but nothing was finalised. And now a little birdie tells us that she would be making her debut in Kangana Ranaut’s upcoming next, Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi.

In an interview with Mumbai Mirror, the 32-year-old confirmed that she is a part of Kangana’s film. She said, “I’d never heard of her before, not many have, but Jhalkaribai was one of the greatest heroes of our proud history. I’m honoured that I’ll be telling her story to the world, fighting alongside Kangana’s Rani Laxmibai.”

Ankita will essay the role of Jhalkaribai, who was an advisor to Rani Laxmkbai and was also an important part of her army. To prepare for her role, Ankita has been learning sword fighting and also taking horse riding lessons.
