Confirmed! Kaabil To Be The First Indian Film To Release In Pakistan After The Ban Lift

The unfortunate Uri attacks led to a state of unrest in India and people of Pakistan too suffered because of this. It also majorly affected the movie business of both the countries. While India decided to ban Pakistani artistes from working in Indian movies, the neighbouring country too imposed a ban on screening Indian films. Because of the ban, Pakistan faced a loss of over Rs 150 million in the last three months.

After months of suspension, Pakistan has now lifted the ban on the Indian movies. Rakesh Roshan has now exclusively confirmed Bollywoodlife that his recently released flick, Kaabil, will be the first Indian film to release in Pakistan after the ban was lifted. He said, “Yes Kaabil is releasing in Pakistan tomorrow or day after tomorrow. I have just got a call from my distributor Satish Anand that the breakthrough has been done by Kaabil. I felt very nice and he said hope this relation continues between the two countries. It’s the first film to release. Only Kaabil”.

Kaabil released on January 25 along with Shahrukh Khan’s Raees. Despite locking horns with Raees, Kaabil did a wonderful job at the box-office and is still earning well. Helmed by Sanjay Gupta, the film stars Hrithik Roshan and Yami Gautam.
