    Confirmed! Vidya Balan’s Hum Paanch Will Return To Small Screen Around This Time

    Here’s some good news for fans of the 90s hit comedy Hum Paanch: It is now confirmed that the show, that also marked the debut of Vidya Balan on small screen, is set for a comeback by the end of May.

    The show is set to be aired on Big Magic, with a completely new cast and crew.

    Shrabani Deodhar, programming head of BIG Magic told Hindustan Times, “As part of our portfolio in the comedy space, we are bringing back the hit comedy show of 90s as Hum Paanch Phir Se. Keeping the intrinsic elements of the popular show intact, the sequel is a modern take on the popular sitcom Hum Paanch. The viewers of the channel will be in for a comical ride daily with this new show.”

    The show’s production house is Essel Vision Pvt Ltd. It will go on air around May post first half. However, the exact date is yet to be finalised.

    Hum Paanch was first aired in 1995 and ran until 1999. The series returned for a second season in 2005 and ran until mid-2006. It starred Vidya Balan, Shoma Anand, Ashok Saraf, Rakhee Tandon, Bhairavi Raichura and Vandana Pathak.
