Deepika Padukone & Irrfan Khan Starrer, Sapna Didi, To Start Shooting Soon

We had earlier reported that the unusual jodi of Deepika Padukone and Irrfan Khan is reuniting for Vishal Bhardwaj’s biopic on Rahima Khan who was famously known as Sapna Didi. They both were previously seen together in 2015 film Piku which was a success at the box office. The flick will see Deepika playing the role of a full-fledged don.

Irrfan Khan will essay the role of a local gangster, Deepika’s love interest. He will aid Sapna Didi in her mission to kill Dawood Ibrahim, her husband’s murderer. He trains her so that she can avenge her husband’s death. Irrfan will be shown as a womaniser who lusts for Sapna Didi, however he displays a lot of characters when he helps her.

The movie is based on one of the chapters of former investigative journalist-turned-author S Hussain Zaidi’s book Mafia Queens of Mumbai. It is believed that Vishal Bhardwaj is making a unique music for the flick which has never been done before. The makers are expected to start rolling the film by January 15, 2018.
