Deepika Padukone To Star Alongside Varun Dhawan In October?

Filmmaker Shoojit Sircar is gearing up for his next movie titled ‘October’. There were lot speculations regarding the lead actors for his film. However, after picture of Varun reading the script with Shoojit went viral, rumours started doing rounds that the actor will play the lead in the film.

While Varun was chosen as the main, there were speculations about who will be the film’s leading lady. According to reports, Deepika Padukone approached the director to cast her in the film despite knowing the fact that she would get only a small role to play since it is romantic comedy. It is being said that the leggy actress wants to work with Shoojit since her previous film, Piku, with the director won her many awards.

If Deepika is cast in the movie, it will be the first time that both Varun and Deepika would be seen together in any film. Talking about the movie, Shoojit said, “it’s not a love story but his take on love”. He added, “It’s again an out-of-the-box kind of story. We started working on this film’s idea, which came from a small newspaper clipping, right before Piku (2015)," said the film-maker adding that it’s "a very unusual, unconventional kind of a story in the slice-of-life and romance space."

Varun Dhawan is very elated to be working with the Vicky Donor director. He further stated that Shoojit is one of the directors who was on his wish list.
