Dhanush, Kajol's VIP 2 eyes for a July 14 release

Dhanush’s blockbuster film Velai Illa Pattathaari saw the light of day on July 18, 2014. To coincide with the release date of the first installment, the team is eyeing to get the second part on screens from July 14.

The shooting is on the brink of completion, with important scenes featuring Dhanush being canned in the city right now. The movie which marks the comeback of Bollywood heartthrob Kajol to Tamil cinema after nearly two decades is being helmed by Soundarya Rajinikanth.

Jointly produced by Dhanush’s Wunderbar Films and Kalaipuli S Thanu’s V Creations, VIP2 has retained Amala Paul, Vivek, Saranya Ponvannan and Samuthirakani from the first part. Kajol, who plays the role of an arrogant industrialist is pitted against Dhanush in the film. Sean Roldan, who won the hearts of music lovers with Dhanush’s directorial debut Power Paandi, is scoring the tunes for the project.
