    The whole country is currently in the grip of Justin Bieber fever. But, few of us know that the Canadian hitmaker has been on the road since March 2016 on the Purpose World Tour. Reportedly, Bieber’s 2015 album Purpose, led by collaborations with Skrillex and Diplo, rejuvenated his career. The album was a huge commercial success and led to three No 1 singles. A tour, to promote the album, was launched on November 11, 2015 on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. The same day, Bieber’s website announced 58 dates of the tour in the United States and Canada. But, because of demand, more shows were added to the itinerary.

    The tour kicked off on March 9, 2016, in Seattle. It played in 82 cities including Vancouver, Portland, Sacramento, San Jose, Oakland, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Fresno, San Diego, Glendale, Salt Lake City, Denver, Kansas City, Houston, Dallas, Atlanta, Cleveland, Toronto, Montreal, Berlin, Munich, Paris, Copenhagen, Lisbon etc. Its 2016 run of shows ended on November, 29, 2016, in London.


    The second leg of the tour started on February 15, 2017 in Monterrey, Mexico. Before his Mumbai gig he performed at places such as Mexico City, Perth, Melbourne, Santiago, Rio de Janeiro, Lima, Panama City, Tel Aviv and Dubai. At the end of 2016, Bieber ranked No. 5 on Billboard’s list of the top 25 tours of the year.
    Reportedly, the first 10 gigs of the 2017 tour have made $40 million. so far, bringing the overall moolah of the gigs to a whopping $200 million . So far, 2.2 million tickets have been sold for 122 performances (excluding Mumbai). Later in the year Bieber is scheduled to do live performances in places such as Johannesburg, Cape Town, Landgraaf, Aarhus, Stavanger and Minneapolis. The tour winds up on September 24, 2017, in Tokyo.
