Dipika and my mom talk about our wedding all day: Shoaib Ibrahim

Actors Shoaib Ibrahim and Dipika Kakar are set to tie the knot early next year, and Shoaib says Dipika’s in charge of all the wedding preparations. “We’ve not started anything as yet. I’ve left all of that to Dipika. She is very excited. Woh aur ammi toh din raat shaadi ki baatein karte hain (She and my mother keep talking about the wedding all day). She’s been telling me that it’s already March and that we better start,” says Shoaib.

The couple co-starred in the daily soap, Sasural Simar Ka, but are no longer a part of it now. Do they consult each other while taking professional decisions? “I discuss every small thing with her. All our decisions are collective,” he says, adding, “Dipika wanted to see me play an Army officer and she also wanted me to change my image onscreen and play a romantic hero. My character in this new show I’m doing has it all, so she’s thrilled.”

Meanwhile, Shoaib — who has been a part of shows such as Rehna Hai Teri Palkon Ki Chhaon Mein and Rishton Ke Bhanwar Mein Uljhi Niyati — says there’s nothing he dislikes about being an actor. “I always wanted to act. My mom wanted me to become an actor. My dad, however, wanted me to become a singer. I love everything about being an actor. I like that we get to play new characters and that the world praises us. I love all of it,” he says.
