WhatsApp groups have become more or less ubiquitous these days, with nearly everyone opting to make a group to stay in touch with their family, friends or colleagues. In fact, the same holds true for Deepika Padukone as well.

A source says, “It’s well known that Deepika hails from Bangalore (Karnataka) and lives by herself in Mumbai, but like many others, she has also gotten on to a WhatsApp group to stay in touch with her family. This way, she is always aware of what’s happening in her family.”

Apparently, the actor’s parents (Prakash Padukone and Ujjala Padukone), her sister Anisha Padukone and Deepika are connected at all times through this WhatsApp group. “Her family can also stay aware of her whereabouts, especially since she doesn’t live with them. Since they keep traveling for work, this group lets them feel connected,” says an insider.

It’s believed that the group sees discussions ranging from big news to smaller details like who is going where and what meals are being cooked. “Deepika calls it nothing less than a blessing at a time when everyone in constantly on the move. In fact, recently, when Deepika was travelling the world to promote her Hollywood film (xXx: Return of Xander Cage), she was constantly in touch with her family through the app,” the source adds. Deepika couldn’t be reached for a comment.
