Does Simbu want to marry Bigg Boss Tamil’s Oviya? Here’s what he has to say

Oviya Helen has been the toast of Tamil Nadu ever since her debut on Bigg Boss Tamil in June this year. While she has received support from all quarters, comments from Tamil star Simbu have been really surprising, so much that rumours are abuzz that Simbu wants to marry Oviya.

According to a report in India Today, a tweet from a fake account of Simbu stated that he wanted to marry Oviya. The tweet soon started doing the rounds on Twitter and a section of media too did stories based on the said tweet.

On Monday, Simbu issued a statement clarifying his stand. He made it clear that he never said anything such and requested all to follow news only from his official handle.

On August 2, Simbu had a long Twitter chat with choreographer Sathish on Bigg Boss Tamil contestants Oviya and Gayathri. Sathish, a devoted Oviya fan, had then made a blistering attack on Gayathri for ganging up against Oviya. Simbu, had chipped in, defending Gayathri while insisting that he too was very fond of Oviya.

Oviya, who made her film debut in 2007’s Malayalam film Kangaroo, has picked up a legion of fans, thanks to her honesty and the emotional upheaval she has had to face while in the house. Her no-nonsense attitude has endeared her to all. What’s more, her exit too has been equally dramatic. She quit the show insisting that she was in love with another contestant Aarav, a TV star who has worked in Hindi serials such as Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon and Mahabharata.

Explaining how she arrived at her decision, she had said that she told herself early on that she would try and keep her feelings for Aarav aside and focus on the show. However, she found that her feelings for him were uncontrollable and hence she decided to leave the show. Before taking the step, however, she consulted Bigg Boss psychiatrists.

Oviya may have quit the show but she remains one of the most popular contestants in the month-old Bigg Boss Tamil. She caught people’s attention early on in the show when she shut up a co-contestant Ganja Karuppu with, ‘Neenga Shutup Pannunga (With due respect, please shut up)’.
