Emraan Hashmi Doesn’t Give A Damn To Nayasers

The year may not be fruitful for Bollywood biggies like Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan after their films Jab Harry Met Sejal and Tubelight tanked at the box office even after much hype around them, but it is definitely for Emraan Hashmi. Though he may not be as sought-after as these actors, but he has certainly superseded them at the box office. His recently released movie Baadshaho, directed by Milan Luthria, has left everyone spellbound.

Not only audience, but critics were too in awe of the actor when they saw his performance in the movie. His character of rogue Dalia has swayed people all across the nation. It has been five days since the film released and it has already crossed Rs 50 crores. In an interview with Bollywood Life, Emraan said, “The financial aspect is very important for the trade. It is crucial to earn money at the end of the day. Everyone worked hard on the film and it has paid off. I am very happy and relieved with the success of Baadshaho.”

This is the second collaboration of Emraan Hashmi, Ajay Devgn and Milan Luthria after Once Upon A Time In Mumbai in 2010. “Baadshaho comes seven years after our last film. It has been worth the wait. I feel we know each other’s style of working inside out and have a united vision on what we have to accomplish,” said the 38-year-old actor. He also said that Milan was planning a film with him and Ajay for a very long time, but happened last year. They started shooting for the flick last year in September and wrapped up in 10 months.

When asked from him whether he feels insecure after SRK and Salman’s films have flopped at the box office, he said, “I don’t get insecure. People said I could not make it when I started out. They did not matter then, they don’t do now. There are always people sitting on the fence and talking. You have to get down to the arena and fight. As an actor, I live for the applause but one needs to be ok with the brickbats. We are actors, there are times we are not working. Even internationally, biggest stars have failed at the box office. The best way to deal with it is not to give a damn and keep doing the work you believe in.”
