Emraan Hashmi is an inseparable part of Raaz and Murder franchise: Mahesh Bhatt

Raaz and Murder sequels were supposed to have newcomer Sidharth Malhotra in the key role but filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt has turned down such reports by saying that the franchise can only have serial kisser Emraan Hashmi in the lead. Mahesh said in a statement, “Going by the numbers, it is impossible for us to separate the ‘Murder’ and ‘Raaz’ franchises from Emraan. He is an integral and inseparable part of the brand.”

The director talked about his experience in the last flick Murder 3 saying that they have learnt a lesson from the failure and will not repeat that mistake again, “I hope this puts the malice to rest…we will not make (the next) ‘Murder’ or ‘Raaz’ without Emraan.” Hashmi has done many films with Vishesh Films like Murder, Zeher, Kalyug, Gangster, The Killer, Awarapan, Showbiz, Raaz – The Mystery Continues, Tum Mile, Crook, Murder 2, Jannat 2 and Raaz 3D.
