Reports have been doing rounds that Farhan Akhtar, who excelled as Milkha Singh in Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, has signed up for another biopic on Urdu poet and Bollywood lyricist, Sahir Ludhianvi. The actor has however brushed off all such reports as absolute rumours.

The actor said in Goa, "I have heard the news. Someone has jumped the gun somewhere. The fact is that I’m not doing that film." Farhan was in Goa to attend a special discussion at the NFDC Film Bazaar, which is held every year as a part of the International Film Festival of India (IFFI). Reports also suggested that the biopic, which is likely to be titled Sahir, is being produced by Bombay Talkies producer Ashi Dua. Kareena Kapoor Khan has also been reportedly roped in to play Amrita Pritam, Ludhianvi’s love interest.

Farhan also said that his next project is with film-maker Dev Benegal, which definitely stars Kareena opposite him. "She is playing the female lead in the film. I will be co-producing it with Dev’s company. It’s scheduled to go on the floors in March," Farhan said. As far as film direction is concerned, Farhan says that he has decided to take a break as he is presently focussed on his acting skills. As a producer, Farhan feels, "It’s fulfilling, to (be able to) provide a platform to make their (other directors’) films in the manner that they want to. Besides that, only once I’m through with acting commitments will I see what I can direct."
