The diktat issued by new censor board members over the ban on cuss words seems to have gotten hold of no one but themselves. After the board faced a thorough flak of criticism from all over, it was I&B ministry that added salts to their wounds.

While censor board chief Pahlaj Nihalani was in a recent meeting made to understand his jurisdiction of power, the govt officials in a meeting held with filmmakers gave them complete assurance. Filmmakers like Anurag Kashyap, Vishal Bharadwaj, Vikram and Mukesh Bhatt were among those who presented the fraternity view. While Minister of state for Information and Broadcasting Rajyawardhan Rathore, Singer and MP Babul Supriyo, actor and MP Vinod Khanna took inspection on govt’s behalf.

“Every three months we are going to have this interface with the government and work together rather than always having this difference between us. We are all leaving very happy from here," Kashyap said after the meeting. Producer Mukesh Bhatt who looked rather assured after coming out of the meet, told reporters that the govt has given them assertion that things will be taken care off. "Recently there was diktat of the Censor Board. We were quite disturbed as there should be certification and censoring is redundant....The Minister gave us confidence that we will have the freedom to make good films with responsibility," he said.
