Finally! ‘31st October’ To Release On October 7

‘31st October’ is a film based on the 1984 anti-Sikh riots. The flick is written and produced by Harry Sachdeva and directed by National Award Winner, Shivaji Lotan Patil. The movie was stuck with the censor board from past four months. Finally, the makers of the film have announced the release date.

‘31st October’ starring Soha Ali Khan and Vir Das, is based on a true story of a Sikh family’s survival against all odds. The movie is slated to release on October 7. Writer-producer Harry Sachdeva and co-producer Anand Prakash said, “We are glad that after crossing these hurdles, ‘31st October’ will be released worldwide.”

Reportedly, the Censor Board has asked the makers to make nine major cuts in all deleting many scenes depicting violence and bloodshed. This is apparently the first Bollywood film to focus on the aftermath of Indira Gandhi’s assassination, which occurred on 31 October 1984. The flick had its official screening at the London Indian Film festival on 18 and 20 July 2015.
