Salman Khan is currently working on the sequel to his 2012 film ‘Ek Tha Tiger’, ‘Tiger Zinda hai’. The actor already has another project lined up, which is the third installment in the ‘Race’ franchise. This time around, Remo D'Souza will be at the helm of affairs as opposed to Mustan Burmawalla and Abbas Burmawalla who directed the first two parts. Not just the direction, but, the lead actors will also see a shift from Saif Ali Khan to Salman Khan.

Initially, Saif was supposed to co-star alongside Salman but he refused to do so. According to sources, Saif, who was the lead in both the previous parts, does not want to share the role and play second lead to Salman. “He was the hero of the franchise. Suddenly, why would he want to be the second lead to Salman”, said the source.

Race 3 also stars Jacqueline Fernandez as the female lead. The first part, which came out in 2008, starred Akshaye Khanna, Bipasha Basu and Katrina Kaif, along with Saif. The second part made its way to theatres in 2013 and introduced Jacqueline Fernandez, Deepika Padukone and John Abraham, among others, to the cast.
