FIR Registered: Ranbir Kapoor, Farhan Akhtar Accused Of Forgery

Many Bollywood stars have often got themselves into trouble for endorsing brands. Ranbir Kapoor and Farhan Akhtar are the latest celebrities to join the league of stars who got caught in the glare. A lawyer has registered an FIR against the Rockstar actor and the Rock On star, alleging them of forgery and criminal breach of trust for promoting an online shopping website, which according to him is “duping” customers.

Rajat Bansal, a resident of Keshav Nagar area has claimed that he ordered a 40-inch LED TV from askmebazaar.com for Rs. 29,999 on August 23. He said that he paid through his debit card and did not receive the product in 10 days, as promised, but has received the receipt of the same. According to Bansal, people fall in the trap of such sites as they are promoted by big stars like Ranbir and Farhan.

An FIR has been lodged under IPC sections 406 (Punishment for criminal breach of trust) and 420 (forgery) on September 19 at Madiyaon police station. The FIR has also been registered against the directors of the website Sanjiv Gupta, Anand Sonbhadra, Piyush Pankaj, Kiran Kumar Sriniwas Murti and marketing officer Puja Goyal.
