Focus On Spreading Awareness Instead Of Reporting About My Clothes: UNICEF’s Global Ambassador Priyanka Chopra Advises Media

Global star Priyanka Chopra is occupied with some real and commendable stuffs. The actress was recently on a visit to Johannesburg and neighboring Zimbabwe as UNICEF’s global ambassador. At the end of the visit, the actress advised media to focus on creating and spreading awareness rather than reporting about her clothes.

On her visit, the actress spoke about children who suffer sexual abuse by close relatives and family members. She said, “We do tend to get a little desensitised towards the future of our children who are the future of our countries. The biggest reason for this, my first trip outside of India as a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador, was because the statistics are staggering one out of three children under the age of 18 in Zimbabwe have faced some or the other form of sexual violence and in South Africa that number is one out of five”.

She also talked about how Mahatma Gandhi and Nelson Mandela inspired her because of their kindness for children. On the work front, the actress is awaiting the release of her maiden Hollywood flick, Baywatch wherein we will see her playing the perfect baddie. Baywatch features Dwayne Johnson, Zac Efron and Priyanka Chopra and will hit theatres on June 2 in India.
