HBO has revealed the first poster for the seventh season of Game of Thrones. It has been, very aptly, called the ‘teaser poster’ as it reveals next to nothing about the upcoming, highly anticipated season of the mega popular show.

The producers decided to go literal with A Song of Ice and Fire, the book series by George R R Martin, on which the show is based. The ice blue poster, revealed to promote the show at the SXSW Festival in Austin, Texas, has a hashtag and the channel’s logo written on a shot of fire dancing with ice.

Everything about season 7 is very vague as yet. The release date has been announced as ‘summer.’ This new poster has not made things any better either.

To get things in perspective, this was last season’s teaser poster. Safe to say, it did give people a lot to think about with a ‘deader than dead’ Jon Snow featuring on it.

The fire and ice on the new poster could be a hint at Daenerys’ fiery dragons meeting Jon Snow on the cold lands of Winterfell or the much-anticipated war that will finally take place between men and the White Walker army.

Actor Liam Cunnigham, who plays Davos Seaworth on the show, had recently let it slip that the season will premiere sometime in July. This is will be the penultimate season of the series and will have only seven episodes.
