Gauahar Khan doesn't care about rumours until they affect her family

Actor Gauahar Khan, who has been in the entertainment business for more than a decade now, accepts that rumours are a part of one’s career. The 33-year-old actor admits that rumours are inevitable, and she tries her best to ignore them.

“It’s not something that bothers me much. You know they are rumours, and not true, so you don’t get affected by them. But if they get nasty, and start affecting your family, or the people you love, then you have to take the situation in your hands, and deal with it,” she says.

A while ago, there were reports that Gauahar was dating TV actor Harshvardhan Rane. Ask her about these reports and she laughs them off.

“It’s funny. People said that Harsh (Harshvardhan) and I went on a coffee date when that never happened. We did go for a coffee, but much later, after this news came out. We even clicked a photo. We wanted to say that ‘look the coffee has finally happened’. But jokes apart, he’s a good friend and there’s nothing more than that,” she clarifies.

Gauahar will be seen next in Peanut Butter, her second short film after Ek Dopahar alongside actor Huma Qureshi, which was released online in January 2017. “As an actor, I want to work in all possible mediums, and I don’t think one should shy away from doing so. I am not bothered about the medium - whether it is television or feature films, or even short films. As an actor, I am hungry for great concepts,” she says.

“It’s (short film) something different and challenging at the same time. I play a 28-year-old, who is a mother of an 18-year-old boy. It was a challenging role, and the moment I read it, I knew I had to be a part of it,” adds Gauahar.
