Gauhar Khan Elated After Receiving Appreciation For Her Performance In ‘Begum Jaan’

Actress Gauhar Khan who essayed the role of Rubina in recently released ‘Begum Jaan’ is happy that she got an opportunity to play the character. She feels that essaying the role of Rubina has made her evolved as an actress. Most of the reviews mentioned her character also besides Vidya Balan’s, which means that she too played a strong character which left an impact on many.

However, for Gauhar playing Rubina was not a child’s play. She gave her 100 percent in essaying the role as she did not want to let her director, Srijit Mukherji, down. The actress says that it does not matter to her whether the role is small or big. She further believes that it is important to depict a small character with great determination and conviction rather than play a main lead with indecisiveness.

In the movie, her character Rubina is a sex worker who is devoted to Begum Jaan (played by Vidya Balan). Like other sex workers in the movie she too becomes a victim of partition. In the movie the former Bigg Boss winner was seen in a deglam look. Gauhar Khan is famous for her roles in 'Rocket Singh', 'Badrinath Ki Dulhania', 'Ishaqzaade' and many others.
