After spending about seven years acting on small screen, Gautam Gulati shot to fame with Bigg Boss season 8. The TV actor’s popularity in the show soon made him bag his first Bollywood film, Azhar, which has hit the screens recently. While talking to Hindustan Times, Gautam, who will be seen essaying the role of Ravi Shashtri in the Emraan Hashmi starrer movie, has confessed that he wanted to play a lead role in his debut film.

Confessing that he feels privileged to be a part of Azhar, Gautam said, “I always wanted a lead role for my Bollywood debut. But if it doesn’t happen you just can’t sit and keep waiting. If my work is good, good roles will come to me and I am really hoping that after Azhar, I will certainly make it happen”.

He added, “I never felt that I had to struggle because work came to me and I was never jobless. Though fame came to me after Bigg Boss, I was always pretty much happy about everything that I was doing even before that”. Directed by Tony D'Souza, Azhar, which has released on May 13, also stars Lara Dutta, Prachi Desai and Nargis Fakhri in prominent roles.
