Mumbai -- Veteran Bollywood actress and Rajya Sabha member Jaya Bachchan has demanded an official explanation from the Rajya Sabha TV -- why her face was repeatedly showed on the television screen when newly-appointed member Rekha (Ganesan) was taking the oath on Tuesday. During the swearing-in ceremony of Bolywood's Umrao Jaan Rekha, the RS TV had mischievously focused on the face of Jaya in an attempt to capture her reactions. The arrival of Rekha to the Upper House has created a buzz in the media due to the enmity between the two senior Bollywood actresses because of the formers alleged affair with legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan in the 1970s. The other senior members of the RS are also reportedly not happy with the sensationalization of the issue and have objected to the coverage. They demanded an explanation from the Rajya Sabha Secretariat and also lodged a protest with Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Rajiv Shukla. However, Rajya Sabha TV CEO has said that RS TV was not responsible for the controversial shots because the live proceedings are still covered by Doordarshan.
