Did You Notice This Major Blunder In The Golmaal Again Trailer?

Did You Notice This Major Blunder In The Golmaal Again Trailer?

When it comes to the Golmaal series, there is little that people expect. A bit of impossible action, redundant slapstick comedy and similar sounding songs, all cooked under the highest saturation a movie camera could manage.

However, on Friday, with the release of the trailer for the fourth instalment in the series, even the short list could not be managed without a massive blooper. Golmaal Again ’s 3-minute long trailer features two scenes of Kunal Kemmu and Tusshar Kapoor dressed in exact Ku Klux Klan costume.

Skip to marks 1.33 and 1.38 for the scenes.

The Ku Klux Klan is one of the most violent, racist, extremist societies in the world that was formed in the United States in 1866, after the American Civil War . It has been identified as a hate group. Its members killed several African American people and other minorities over a span of more than 150 years due to their belief in White Supremacy and their aim to ‘purifify of the American society’.

Eric Foner’s book Reconstruction: America’s Unfinished Revolution read that the KKK members dressed in their white uniforms and called themselves ghosts to scare ‘superstitious black people.’

Now, after the Charlottesville incident, the fear and hatred for the KKK and other white nationalist groups is again on the rise among the American people. President Donald Trump’s words, that there were violent people on both sides, didn’t do much to calm down the people. The gathering of the white nationalists was one of the largest US had seen in recent years and has become a cause of concern of the public. A prominent US civil rights group, the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) says that it is currently tracking more than 1,600 extremist groups in the US.

Coming back to the trailer, some would say these are just two characters playing ghosts with white sheets on them. For those people, here’s a side-by-side comparison.

Also, when was the last time you saw someone play ghost with a tailored pointed hat like that. The similarity is too real to miss.

For everyone’s sake, director Rohit Shetty , Ajay Devgn and the entire team of the film, we really hope that this was a mere goof up. Maybe the designer just thought that the pointy hats make the ghosts look cute. A bit of research, however, wouldn’t have hurt.

Not a lot of people seem to have caught the insensitive scene. All we could find was this one tweet.

Do you think the film made a big blunder or do you think it’s nothing to sound alarm over?
