    Gujarati Actor Mukesh Rawal Run Over By A Train

    Veteran television actor and Gujarati theatre personality Mukesh Rawal, passed away in a train accident near Kandivali station on Tuesday morning. The television actor was best known for playing Vibhishan in Ramanand Sagar’s ‘Ramayan’. According to railway police press release, the accident took place when the 65-year-old actor was travelling for the dubbing of an upcoming Gujarati film.

    The body was found on Tuesday morning, but the actor's relative identified him on Wednesday morning, said Commissioner of Railway Police Niket Kaushik. According to the sources, at around 9.30 am on Tuesday, the Kandivali station master informed Gujarat police about the accident. Rawal was rushed to a public hospital where doctors pronounced him dead.

    When the news of Rawal’s death spread, some media reports suggested it was a suicide case, as his body was found at a railway track. But Rawal’s cousin sister-in-law Tejal Rawal, denied the reports. She informed the media about Rawal’s cremation to be held in Mumbai.

    Apart from 'Ramayana', Rawal appeared in Bollywood films like ‘Zid’, ‘Satta’, ‘Auzaar’ and ‘Kasak’ and had also acted in various Dhollywood (Gujarati) films and TV serials. The actor was last seen in 2014 Gujarati movie, ‘Sathiyo Chalyo Khodaldham’. Desimartini would like to express sincere condolences to the renowned actor’s family. May his soul rest in peace.
