Gutka: Punit Malhotra casts Akshay Kumar to play the lead

Writer-director Punit Malhotra has roped in actor Akshay Kumar to act in his next, Gutka. The maker till date has been a creator of love stories only, even his forthcoming, Gori Tere Pyaar Mein (November 22) is too a love story. Now, Punit has taken a pledge to do something that he has not done before. He will now direct a drama.

The filmmaker quoted, “I am making a drama...my next film 'Gutka'. Akshay plays the lead in the film. It's a drama and it's a completely different film from what I have made earlier.” Punit has made it clear that he is not sure when the flick will hit the floors as he hasn’t selected the leading lady for his film, moreover he has to lock the script first, then only further revelations will be made.
