The Peppy New Song From Half Girlfriend Mere Dil Mein Is Also Borderline Creepy!

The makers of Shraddha Kapoor-Arjun Kapoor-starrer Half Girlfriend have released the title track of the upcoming flick.

Composed by Rishi Rich, Mere Dil Mein is a groovy number, quite different from the romantic tracks that have been released till now.

It has Shraddha and Arjun dancing across the streets of New York and the Times Square. Shraddha looks quite chic and Arjun matches up with his swag.

The song rendered by Veronica Mehta and Yash Narvekar has a mix of English and Hindi lyrics—the Hindi words have been penned by Yash Narvekar and R Rekhi while Isihita Moitra Udhwani has inked the English ones.

In sync with the quirky feel of the film, the song has lyrics like “aankhein dhatura teri baatein nasha, viral sa fever tera mujhpe chadha” and it gets creepy at times with lines like “Facebook pe maine tujhe stalk kiya, O baby toone kahe mujhe block kiya?”

Talking about the newly released track, producer Ekta Kapoor in press statement said, “Audiences always look to Mohit Suri for melodious love tracks, which are beautifully included in the narrative of the film, and this time, along with these songs, he’s also given a twist to the album! The title has piqued everyone’s curiosity so much that we decided to do a ‘hatke’ title track for it.”

Produced by Balaji Motion Pictures, Mohit Suri and Chetan Bhagat, Half Girlfriend is a cinematic adaptation of Bhagat’s novel of the same name. Directed by Mohit Suri, the film is slated for release on May 19.
