Happy New Year hits a ‘Triple Ton’ globally

Riding high on the tremendous wave it generated right form its release, Red Chillies Happy New Year has now hit a new gratifying record for the makers. The gross collections of the film have made it sail past the 300 crore mark internationally. While, Chennai Express has already got Shahrukh that pleasing figure before, this would still be a magical achievement for all its crew.

As per the latest collections that came in after its second weekend, the film has grossed around 245 crores in India and around 65 overseas. With this, the film now has entered an elite zone. Bang Bang earlier last month, had also garnered a mammoth international figure but the net collections could only manage a modest 175 crores in India. Though this may still be a winning performance by the HNY, the numbers are much less when compared to SRK’s previous Chennai Express. The mixed word of mouth could possibly be a reason for the saturated collections but it is certain that the film will range much less than what it was initially expected to fare.
