Happy New Year overtakes Salman Khan’s Kick in worldwide collection

Shahrukh Khan’s Happy New Year may have failed to win you over completely, but the worldwide trends are only going upwards. The film has been too slow to race its way into the 200 crore club and will fall way short of what Salman Khan’s Kick or Aamir’s Dhoom had garnered, but the overseas collections have made HNY take over Kick in total compilation.

While the domestic collections are crawling around 200, the film has put up an impressive 90 crores in the overseas. With this, the Farah Khan directorial has earned 380 crores worldwide while Kick ended its run at 377. However, if the domestic collections are taken under consideration, Happy New Year is good 33 crores short of what Salman kicked at the box office. Happy New Year has almost ended its domestic run, while there were still some shows running in theatres, with the release of Kill Dil today, the film will find the gates closed. All eyes would now be on Aamir Khan’s PK that has all the elements to be in for a grand feast. While Dhoom 3 still remains the highest domestic and overseas earner, PK would determine if Aamir and Hirani can better their own respective records.
